Vitarich renews ISO 22000 certification for food safety
November 4, 2022– Vitarich Corporation (PSE: VITA) successfully renewed its International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 22000:2018 certification for its feed mill facilities. The third-party audit was conducted by Certification International Philippines, Inc. which issued certificates that are valid until 2025 for the plants in Pavia, Iloilo and Panacan, Davao City.
“We are proud to be certified to international standards that assure customers can trust the safety of their food,” said Rocco Sarmiento, President and CEO. “We first obtained ISO 22000 certification in 2007. Since then, it has been a strategic management system for us. Adhering to the standard and maintaining certification for 15 years now challenge us to stay up to date with the latest best practices. It is a testament to our commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goal on responsible production.”
ISO 22000 is an international standard that sets out the requirements for a food safety management system, enabling organizations in the food chain to:
- plan, implement, operate, maintain, and update a food safety management system;
- demonstrate compliance with statutory and regulatory food safety requirements;
- evaluate and assess mutually agreed customer food safety requirements and to demonstrate conformity with them;
- effectively communicate food safety issues to interested parties within the food chain;
